The software

Personal Portfolio Management System

PPMS is a self-hosted application that gathers the household's accounts from each institution, keeps the history, and shows the whole picture: holdings by strategy, liabilities, net worth today, and where it is likely to be in ten years.

It connects to banks and brokerages through Plaid with the account holder's authorization and reads balances and holdings only. It never moves money and never holds a login for any institution.

Who uses it
Two people. There is no sign-up and it is not offered to anyone else.
Where it runs
On hardware the household owns, reachable only over the household's private network.
What it stores
Account balances, holdings, and liabilities, encrypted at rest. See the privacy policy.

If a bank's consent screen names Salt Scale Capital, it is this application asking for read-only access to the account holder's own data.
